[2] Rogues Loot List

It embarrasing enough when a Rogues tries to roll on Druid pieces when he/she doesn't know its a druid only item and rolls on it based on stats, so heres a nice loot list by a friend of mine :
http://www.geocities.com/nebk316/RLL/Rogue_Loot_List_v1.html

Heres another loot list I found on Google :

[3] Builds

The main thing people get wrong as Rouges are the builds; they either copy someone elses * its not that bad, but still * or randomly select points. First time Rogue especially have htis problem, well heres some thing to fix this.

===========================
How to use this build: ^ the one above

First is to always open up with a cheap shot or ambush ( I use ambush ) then start pounding away with SS then when at 3 - 5 Pts ( Depends on your HP and Targets HP ) use Evi, then repeat. If you reach 50% HP its best you use Vanish then Cheap Shot, then SS till target has max Pts on him/her then if Evi isnt rdy by now use Prep then Cold Blood to hopefully finish the target. Using this build requires the true rogue or a sneeking player if your non of tht by all means don't use this build lol, you'll just get Murdered like a Decked out Rogue vs the Holy Priest.
——————————————–
Here was My DoT * Damage over Time * Build:

# Improved Kidney Shot - 2/3 points
Reduces the cooldown of your Kidney Shot ability by 4 seconds.

# Improved Deadly Poison - 2/5 points
Increases the chance to apply Deadly Poison to your target by 6%.

COMBAT: 0 Pts
——————
SUBTLETY: 25 Pts
———————
# Master of Deception - 5/5 points
Reduces the chance enemies have to detect you while in Stealth mode. More effective than Master of Deception (Rank 4)

# Elusiveness - 5/5 points
Reduces the cooldown of your Evasion, Vanish, and Blind abilities by 1.3 minutes.

# Opportunity - 5/5 points
Increases the damage dealt when striking from behind with your Backstab, Garrote, or Ambush abilities by 20%.

# Improved Garrote - 2/2 points
Increases the duration of your Garrote ability by 6 seconds, but reduces the damage by 10%.

# Improved Rupture - 3/3 points
Increases the damage of dealt by your Rupture ability by 30%.

# Improved Distract - 2/2 points
Increases the radius of your Distract ability by 5 yards.

# Preparation - 1/1 point
When activated, this ability immediately finishes the cooldown on your other Rogue abilities.

# Improved Cheap Shot - 2/2 points
Reduces the Energy cost of your Cheap Shot ability by 20.

# Hemorrhage - 1/1 point
An instant strike that damages the opponent and causes the target to hermorrhage, increasing any Physical damage dealt to the target by up to 3. Lasts 30 charges or 15 seconds. Awards 1 combo point.

Level 46: 5 damage increase
Level 58: 7 damage increase
==========================
How to use this build: ^ the one above

Do NOT use SS, because it is a waste of energy in this build, use Hemorrhage to open up atks, its required hat you use either Rupture or Evi, the battle conditions will tell you wat to do, if you open up with Garrote its best you use Evi when at 3-5 Pts on the Enemy, but if you use Cheap Shot ( NO Ambush ) its best you use Rupture then start hacking/slashing away with Hemorr and Evi. Also in this build since you do less Instant/Burst Dmg its best you use Swords, no Maces because since the patch up Blizzard has reduced the ammount of Dmg Maces do with Rogues. Using Swords with Strength and Agilty are the key ( No Stamina, your gear can do that ) because you want to hit hard while doing DoT.

[6] Professions

+ Mining

This is a grreat money maker for a Rogue and I highly recommend it at low lvls so you can save up for a mount, if you do this for farming mats its best you pair it w/ Skinning, Blacksmithing is practicly useless with Rogues because Rogues don't use Mail or Plate, and the weapons that are made arn't benifical for a Rogue.

+ Herbalism

A good partner with Alchemy, though not much of a money maker by itself w/ Alchemy its a money maker AND it can benifit the Rogue as well.

+ Skinning

This is a very good money making Profession, mixed with Mining, you'll be the god of making money when it comes to Professions, Leatherworking is good for lvls 5 - 40, but at higher lvls it becomes a pain and becomes useless to a Rogue. Skinning is good for Farming w/ Mining.

Horde Leveling 1-60 (World of warcraft)

horde leveling 1-60

This will be the horde section of my leveling guides, and like the alliance one, it assumes that you are on a PvP server. If you are not on a PvP server, feel free to use both guides to your advantage, though I still would suggest these places because they are more advantageous to that race just because of the cities etc.

The horde has four races: Undead, Troll, Tauren, and Orc. Three of them start on the horde or western continent, and the other, Undead, starts in the Eastern Kingdoms, nears the north. Both of these places have leveling for all classes, though I will recommend traveling to quite a few places. Like the other guide, I recommend going through all instances one can at their particular level, as they provide nice loot to help in solo leveling.

Level 1-10

Like alliance, level 1-10 is a solo experience for all of the classes, with basically a quest-based leveling that turns out to be very fast. All that is really necessary is to stay in the newbie section of the zone and branch out when quests are complete. I will be going race by race through the guide, though after level 30 I will go by zone, because by that time it will be easy to travel throughout the world, and all races can go through all zones.

Undead

Undead start in Tirisfall Glades, which has good leveling till at least 10, and can be pushed to 11. You can get quests right in the Cathedral where you start, and upon reaching level 6, one can travel just a little to the east to Brill for more quests. They are all in the vicinity, though a few will ask you to go to Silverpine Forest (this is for level 10-12, so keep them). There is no threats really, just stay away from the far northeast of the zone, as there are level 40 elite mobs there.

Tauren

The Taurens' home is Mulgore, where players will start in the southern part of the zone. The town there has a few quest chains to get you started, but once you find you are out, head a little to the north to Bloodhoof Village, which houses more quests. Upon level 8-9, one should make a trip to Thunder Bluff for more quests as well as trainers and equipment.

Trolls

Sen'Jin Village is the home of the Trolls, located in Durotar. It is in the very south of the zone, and should be a good place to go through level 10. Once you get higher up, you can head to Razor Hill, which has more quests, and then further up to Orgrimmar.

Orcs

Orcs also start in Durotar, but in Razor Hill. You can complete the same quests as the Trolls, and then head to Sen'Jin for more.

All Classes

It shouldn't take more than a few hours to reach level 10, most of the quests are easy and require killing monsters which give exp. You can get items that you need for killing harder monsters. Once you reach level 10 or 11, the options are pretty tight, but still make easy leveling.

Level 10-20

These levels take a more straightforeward approach, especially when one is playing horde. The classes are a lot more centralized, giving more opportunities for leveling together with other horde members and being a little safer if on a PvP server.

I reccomend that all races take a trip to Ogrimmar, and go through the instance Ragefire Chasm. It has good loot and is quick exp, especially with some quests that you can get right outside of it, as well as in the Barrens.

Troll, Orc and Tauren

Level 10-16/18 for these three classes is in one zone, which is gigantic. The Barrens is home to two outposts, many many quests, and three Instances. Technically there is a way to level from 10-22+ here, but it is probably easier to split it up from 10-18/20 and then come back at higher levels for two of the instances. You will want to run from Orgrimmar or Mulgore to the Barrens which is only one zone away from each of the newbie zones. You will want to make your way to the middle of the zone, where you will find The Crossroads. This place is full of quests that require you to travel around the zone and kill many different places. You will also want to take a trip to Rachet when you are around level 13 or 14, as there a quests for The Wailing Caverns, a great instance for level 15-18.

Furthermore, once you get to level 16-18, you can go south to Camp Taurajo, which is right near the Mulgore zone. There are higher level quests there if you want to keep leveling in the Barrens.

If you want somewhere new to go, around level 18 or 19, you can head to Stonetalon Mountains, which is a good place to level for the upcoming grind.

Undead

Personally, I would reccomend that Undead players take the same path as the other three classes, and take the Zepplin outside the Undercity to Durotar and go to Orgrimmar. Even so, Silverpine Forest serves as a good place to go for level 12-13, as there are some quick and easy slaughter quests. I would also reccomend that undead head to Ragefire Chasm and run the instance inside Orgrimmar.

Level 20-30

Leveling starts to slow down a bit, but there are plenty of zones and choices at this point. I would assume that by now all people are in the Barrens/Stonetalon Mountains, and start by heading to Sunrock Retreat in the middle of Stonetalon Mountains. You can quest there which will lead you to the goblins and humans of the digging company to the east, the Nightelf and Centaurs to the north, and to the Harpys to the west. This should be sufficient leveling to 25 or so, but there is a second option.

You can travel north of the Barrens to Ashenvale. There is a town to the north-northeast part of the zone, a good housing to quests. You can come here before Stonetalon, but I would suggest being at least level 25, as even though there will be a few green quests, the majority of them will be your level.

Furthermore, there is a level 28-31 instance in Ashenvale, Blackfathom Depths. There is some nice loot, and a run or two wouldn't be a bad idea. If this doesn't suit you, there is a second instance you can run at the very south part of the barrens, Razorfen Downs. You can check loot tables for the instances here, which is a great place to find out where you want to run to get better equipment.

Level 30-40

You may be a little above level 30, but it should be time to move on to new zones with new quests and instances. I am going to list zones and some good places to go (mostly where the quests are) instead of going by race, as everything is easily acessable with a little bit of travel.

First of all, since we are already out west, it would probably be best to travel to Desolace, which is south of Stonetalon Mountains. There are many opportunities there for questing, which can boost you up from 30-35 pretty quickly. You can head down to the southwest shoreline to find Shadowprey Village, but if you come here at 30, you will probably want to find the encampment in the Kodo Graveyard, on the eastern side. There you can do quests that relate to all of the centaur tribes, and get a great deal of grinding experience. Once you get up to 33 or so, I would reccomend Shadowprey's quests. There arn't any large chains, but you can get a level or two from all of them.

Another option, which is also highly reccomended is Hillsbrad Foothills. On PvP servers this zone can be a huge zone for ganking and PvP, but it also holds a great deal of quests to get players through 5-10 levels easily. If you come at 30, there may be one or two green quests, but they are all quest chains and will lead to elite quests for good exp and rewards. I reccomend going here first and doing the quest as much as possible, then heading to other zones such as Arathi Highlands and Stranglethron Vale.

As mentioned above Arathi Highlands is a great place to level after Hillsbrad. You will recieve one quest for this zone in Hillsbrad, and then you will be asked to turn in the quest to somebody from Hammerfall, located in the northeast section of the zone. Here there will be many quest chains, a lot of slaughter quests for fast exp, and not that many opposing alliance. In the middle of the zone there is an alliance city, so stay away from that part as the guards are level 42.

If you have gone in the order said above, you should be well on your way to 36 or 37 if you only did quests and then left the above zones. I would head to Straglethorn Vale. The easiest way to get there is to take the Zepplin from either Tirisfal or Durotar, and you will end up right in the beginning town, Grom'Gol Base Camp. There are plenty of quests that involve killing in the north and around the base camp, a pretty safe area in general. As you get a little higher in levels, you will have to advance further south, and eventually you can run all the way south to Booty Bay, which is a Goblin Town. There are a lot of options questwise there, and this should eaisly get you to 40. Even though there are a multitude of zones, there are a few other reccomendations.

Instances

There are a few instances you can travel to between 30 and 40, all of which hold some nice loot for all classes. I would definatly, as said in the alliance Guide, suggest that all levelers go to Scarlet Monestary , there are great loot and exp opporunities. Even so, I've found that Razorfen Downs in The Barrens, as well as Uldaman in the Badlands are host to great loot and quests as well. Although you have to travel around to find the quests, consult the links to find out who to talk to for the quests. If you get sick of the solo thing, definatly check out these instances.

Level 40-50

Level 40-50 slims down a bit from 30-40 in places to go, but there are still many quests to go. I would suggest finish up Stranglethorn Vale if you havn't already done so, and then taking a trip back to the Western side of the world.

Feralas is a good place to level at 40, with mobs starting at 38 and rising all the way to 48 or 50. You can stay there for quite some time, with access coming from Thousand Needles. You can find the encampment in the middle of the zone, just keep following the path.

The other place I suggest is also next to Thousand Needles, but is to the south, not west. If you follow the Shimmering Flats in Thousand Needles you will come to Tanaris. Right when you arrive there you will be next to Gadgetzan, the main base for the zone. It is another goblin city, your main place for quests etc. You will want to complete those quests, and upon hitting 44 or 45, start forming Zul'Farruk groups. It is an instance in the northwest of the zone, and like usual, houses great exp and loot, along with some quests. These two zones alone should take you to level 48 or 49, though if you want another zone, there is a good alternative, although more alliance based.

Traveling back to Hillsbrad Foothills, if you go to the northeast, you can find The Hinterlands. This zone has a lot of alliance, and the town is a little hard to get too, so I would suggest not going until level 48 or 49. There are tons of quests for horde at the town, which is located in the very southeast of the zone, below the cliffs. There is a ramp to get down, as jumping will result in death. You may want to find a partner, just in case there are alliance around, because this seems to be one of their prime leveling spots for the high 40's.

Level 50-60

These levels are more grinding instances and soloing, but there are quite a few zones you can visit. If you are already in Tanaris, head to the southwest and take the ramp down to Un'Goro Crater . If you head to the central-north part of the zone, there is a town with quest givers. If you happen to be 55+, you could head further west to Silithis, but you may need to go to a few other zones until you hit 55 or higher. I reccomend Silithis for level 55+, as a lot of the new quests give 6k+ exp and really good exp, they are level 59-60, and not really strong.

Furthermore, you can travel north in the western continents to the three adjacent zones Azshara, Felwood, and Winterspring. All host 50-55+ quests and plenty of them. With these five zones there should be no problem to leveling.

Furthermore, instancing at 55-60 is amazing, and can even be done at 52. From 52-55, I reccomend Atal'Hakkar. When you get 55+, you can do either Scholomance Stratholme Dire Maul or my personal favorite Blackrock Depths. The last 10 levels have a lot of possibilities even though they can be slow at times, just keep going and try to get groups in Orgrimmar for the instances, or you can solo in any of those zones, or even the Plaguelands.

Faster Grinding: Priest (Wow)

For grinding up a shadow priest (if you're going to go holy from the start don't bother grinding, run instances for your exp) stick to mobs about your lvl until you're around 40'ish then you can move up. You can kill mobs higher than you before that of course, but the xp/hour will be less. Green mobs are your friend.

Before you hit shadow form and have improved VE I would pull with mindblast, drpo a SW:P on the mob, shield, flay once or twice and then wand the rest of the way. With shadowform and imp VE I drop the PW:S (Power Word Shield) as it's incredibly mana ineffeciant and VE will top me off almost all the way during the course of every fight.

IMHO First Aid should be learned by every class and I have my first aid right up there as well, but I don't waste bandages during grinding sessions. Generally I'll sit down and eat some food when I have to drink every so often. Many of the higher level foods will give you nifty abilities such as increasing stam and spirit for 15 minutes if you spend 10 seconds eating it. I also love to have mages on the friends list that will drop me a stack of 80 conjured water as it saves on drink costs during long (10 hour+) grinding sessions.

When you're starting out wanding is a must and even at a higher level wanding is a must. When wanding you also get out of FSR (Five Second Rule) so you can begin regenerating mana quicker. When spirit tap kicks in it's almost as good as drinking. In addition your first wand should always be Lesser Magic Wand:

http://thottbot.com/?i=1325

This is made by a low level enchanter, you can use it at lvl 5, and it pumps out 11.3 DPS (can be had for very cheap as well).

I ended up with Cookies Stiring Rod next ( http://thottbot.com/?i=6502 ) which is from the DeadMine but the Greater Magic Wand (again from an enchanter) is another wonderful wand: http://thottbot.com/?i=1318

Greater Magic Wand: lvl 13 and 17.5 damage per second
Cookies Stiring Rod: lvl 17 and 22.3 damage per second

After those wands there's not much you can get on the cheap from enchanters for wands, you'll be looking at green drops.

For pure grinding I like a good mix of int/spi but don't get too hung up in stats. Once you hit lvl 40 and get Shadowform everything becomes a lot more fun.

Dire Maul West And North (Warcraft)

West and North Dire Maul

East Dire Maul is not included because a trained monkey can do it

Materials needed for a full run on West and North;

Crescent Key (gotten in EDM), 2 rune thread, 8 rugged leather, 4 Rune cloth bolts, 1 Thorium Widget, 1 Frost Oil

Getting to Dire Maul

Get to Theramore, and fly down to Feralas. Once there head east, stay off the main road because it runs through a horde town (you can easily avoid by hitting the water) once past the town hit the road and follow it east. Dire Maul is located almost in the middle of the zone, once you’ve found it head north into it.

Now you don’t have to fight you’re way into DM, most of the mobs have a very small agro radius, so just dodge out of the way. Follow the passageways until you come to a T crossing. Go right, and head across the passage way you should see a door, go through and you come into a big green courtyard. From here you can access East, West, and North. Also you can mount up here, so do so.

West Dire Maul; Need Crescent key or a rogue

Ok, first you need to clearing the large wandering tree elementals. These can be banished, and they do have a knock back effect.

Once all the trees have been cleared move into the middle, you will see a large pylon with elementals about it. You need to clear all of them; they use arcane missiles, have a small blink, but not much in the way of HP. These can also be banished. Once all of the mobs have been killed continue out of the middle and go right.

You will a passageway leading off to the right (at this point people will be screaming to kill the named, don’t worry you’ll be coming back). Watch out of invisible ghosts, these not to hard (See invisible is great here).

You should see an open doorway that leads to a large room full of ghostesque mobs, with a ramp leading up. You will be clearing the mobs in the middle and right hand side. They can silence so keep you healer/spell casters back. Once the middle and left is clear, hug the right wall up.

Now at the top of the ramp you will find some wandering ghosts, its best to kill them and save you’re self some hassle. Now face down the ramp, you will want to hug the right hand side of the railing. Watch out for the two caster mobs, they can be a pain. Follow round until you hit a wall, at this point you should see another pylon. Just do the same as before.

After pylon two AoE the skeletons, carry on over the bridge. Invisible ghosts here again, only a few. Grab the quest, and hit the far side. Pylon number three, rinse and repeat. Now you may find a wandering NE female and her pet bear. Off tank the NE female (she’s a hunter and uses varying shots) and kill the bear first (he charges).

Ok back to the middle of the bridge, and drop down onto the ramp below. Dismiss pets before hand or wipe central. The tree boss is a straight forward fight, he is also used in paladin epic if that’s an issue.

Down into the main courtyard and through the door. Invisible mobs again, just clear through until you come to the main chamber. You will find wandering patrols of storm elementals that need to be killed. Key is to banish the main one, and kill the lesser ones who don’t have that much HP. If no warlock, the big one can be off tanked easily enough.

At this point go left and clear pylon 4. Careful not to agro the mobs that wander around the central area. Go back to where you came in, and go right clear pylon 5. The main area is now accessible.

The fight is straightforward, just kill the eyes he spawn as they can be annoying. Now go leave the central area, and right from where you came in is a door that leads to the library. You will find a place to repair and buy drinks here, also Mooncloth Robe Pattern is available at 4 gold.

Under the ramp you came in is the prince, he hits fast but not overly hard. Once he is dead return to the quest NPC at the top for hand in. The reward chest is under the ramp in the library, by all accounts the mace sells for 7 gold.

This is West Dire Maul done, if you wish to make the most of the situation I would recommend doing North right after.

North Dire Maul

Ok in the corner of the library is a passageway that leads to North Dire Maul, follow this up. Once you reach the top of the passageway, hug the railing to the right. What you’re going to do now is to make life easy for you’re self. There is a ramp in front of you, you will want to run up it and left out of the instance, purely a time saving tool feel free to kill the ogres.

Now the overriding factor in North is NOT to kill the varying bosses you meet. The reason being, the more left alive at the end the more loot in the tribute (chest you get after killing the king).

If you do not have a rogue or an engineer you will need to go back down the ramp you ran up of and hug the right wall. Clear the dogs and continue round, you should see a named ogre. He has a key you need, once dead back out of the courtyard to instance start. If you have a rogue with 300 lock picking don’t worry

Facing out from instance entrance go left, watch out for the patrol of an ogre and two dogs. Dogs see through stealth. Clear the left area, and go up the first ramp you see. There are a few wandering patrols, its best to kill them off in case you wipe later on.

You should see a raised courtyard area, and a ramp. Clear up the ramp and be careful of adds (often best to pull down the ramp). Once this area is secure, you will notice a wandering named guard, try not to kill. Once he is safely away, grab the key from the chest in middle, and head to other side of courtyard and down ramp to locked door.

Once in the passageways look out for wandering Eyes of Zomm, they summon in two 60 elite elementals. Clear down the first passage way to the bugs, AoE these. Now you will see a set of ogres with pets to you’re right and a gnome with a quest marker. Also a wandering guard, and a broken trap on the floor. Pull the set of mobs around the fire. Then use the Thorium Widget and Frost Oil on the broken trap, this will freeze the named in place. Carry on around the corner, there’s a set of mobs in the corner but they can be safely ignored, and clear the set of mobs next to the ramp.

The gnome gives a quest for the ogre suit (you did bring the parts listed above right?) but you missing Ogre Tannin. Up the ramp and do the same again, and once more in the corner. In the corner is ogre tannin basket, looting tannin causes a mob to spawn and rush down the ramp, an easy kill

Return to the gnome and get you suit, then its back up the ramps. At the top ramp, go left and kill the two ogres at door. Carry on through and kill the other set of ogre. Now suit up and talk to the captain, only one person needs do this. He will rush off, and won’t agro other party members.

Now clear the right hand two mobs, pull them into tunnel to avoid adds. Hug the right wall, pull the dogs making sure that the patrol of dogs is no where near by. For the best result also pull dogs into the tunnel.

Now from the right wall cut across the courtyard to the broken ramp in the central ring. If you haven’t done so kill the patrol of dogs.

King fight is straight forward. Off tank the observer, making sure not to kill him, also keep him away from the king as he will heal him. The king hits hard, so have the healing ready. Have had a paladin tank him with a priest healer, and a warrior tank with a druid healer so nothing is needed. Once the king is dead, the observer becomes non-agro.

Loot the king, and hail the NPC that ran in. Talk to him twice for tribute, make sure everyone has the king buff and head back to the start, talk to the guards on the way for a 120min buffs. You will find the captain on the way, talk to him to receive a quest.

Return to the library, and behind were the prince was, is a chest. Return the gloves to the captain for you’re reward.

This is North DM done.

FAQ

Q. Why don’t we killed the named in North?
A. The more bosses left alive when the king dies, the more loot in tribute. With all alive, 3 blue items

Q. We did north but can’t get the chest behind the prince, what do we do?
A. In order to access the chest you need to kill the prince, this is done by freeing the Immotar (clear the 5 pylons)

Crafting Fast best Way To Grind Crafting Professions (Wow)

Some have asked:

“What is the fastest way to grind X profession?”

I have a rather novel answer; the fastest way to grind any crafting profession is to wait until your level 40. Here’s why:

1. At lower levels you don’t have the resources to power thru anything. Yes you can gather a little ore, herbs and leather as your questing along and then you can use those resources to grind your way up to level 110 or so in your crafting profession… but you will soon find that you come to a screeching halt because you will either need resources that are beyond your skill to acquire or beyond your ability to procure them and survive. You will also find that most of the items you can make at the sub-artisan level are not worth the resources you created them with. You end up in a vicious cycle of questing to make money to grind a profession that is doing you no good – very inefficient.

2. You can’t train artisan until level 35, and Goodness knows you should be saving your pennies for your mount, it will change your life – seriously it will. Yes I know many players have alts and can fully fund their own grinding materials or have guilds that will provide them. But, you will come to a screeching halt when your level 10 dude cant train expert or your 20 dude is stuck at 225, the gateway to crafting greatness, for 15 more levels and cant train artisan. Here are the ranks for future reference:

Apprentice (1-75) Level 5
Journeyman (50-150) Level 10
Expert (125-225) Level 20
Artisan (200-300) Level 35

IMHO, lower level characters (level 40 and below) should concentrate all their efforts on questing, grinding and upgrading their equipment from the surplus of excellent, low priced gear on the Auction House or just using the quest rewards which are just fine for lower level combat. Sell everything and spend it on training and gear.

Ok Mr. Crafting genius, what should I do then?

I’m so glad you asked. At around level 30 I would pick up two gathering professions, skinning and mining or skinning and herbalism. Don’t try herbs and mining together because you can’t have both trackers running at the same time. Try to also decide what crafting profession you want to do so you know what to save and what to sell. For example, if you take herbs and skinning and you know you want to be an alchemist then bank the herbs and sell the leather. You should also do some homework, head for thottbot.com and look at the recipes and patterns listed there. Some are really easy and only require as little as one resource. Others are more complex and require multiple resources and sometimes crafted items from other professions. The trick is finding the low requirement items so you can level quickly and efficiently.

Now, you will have to spend maybe an hour (or two at the most) in a noob area (Elwynn Forest, Dun Morough or what ever that depressing Night Elf area is called) gathering low level stuff, but it will be easy because nothing in those areas can hurt you and you can quickly level up to 150 in both your gathering skills and you can bank full stacks of resources in preparation for the crafting skill you will pick up at level 40 or you can sell the stuff to help fund your level40 mount.

As you continue to grind thru your 30’s you will easily max your gathering skills simply by gathering stuff as you quest along. You will also learn where the resources you need spawn. The Gatherer mod leaves little icons on both the mini-map and the big map every time you harvest something, it makes for easy “harvesting runs” when you need to re-stock your stores. I highly recommend it.

When you finally hit level 40, you’re fully trained in your class skills and you have purchased your mount; you are now ready for a crafting profession. Drop the gathering skill that doesn’t correspond to your chosen crafting profession and go train novice. Run to the bank, grab your stockpiled resources and head back to the skill trainer. Depending on how much you gathered and how well you did your homework, you can now power thru your crafting profession. Use thottbot to find higher level trainers. You will slow down again at artisan level (225) but since your level 40+ now you are much better equipped to either go get the stuff you need to continue your ascent or raise the cash to buy your grinding supplies off the auction house. A few runs thru SM or an hour or two in Arathi will net you all you need to grind your way to the top of your profession.

But I want to be an Enchanter:

No problem, follow the same method. Above with the following changes:

At level 30 you will train herbalism and enchanting. Herbalism is going to be a supplemental cash source for you, sell everything you gather and disenchant every magic item you find that you can’t use yourself. Bank all the dusts, essences and shards you disenchant and don’t get tempted to start leveling your skills yet. Remember to combine the lesser essences into greater ones for storage purposes. IIRC you can level up to 100 just from disenchanting items, don’t smack me if I’m wrong about this it may only be 50. At level 40, you will clear out your bank and go train as high as you can with what you gathered in your 30’s. I suggest you buy (or save from your travels) a cheap bracer, 1h weapon, 2h hand weapon, shield and chest piece; keep them in your bank. These will be what you practice your chants on. From here you have a few options:

1. You can head to the the highest instance you can handle solo and hunt green items to disenchant – time consuming, but you should get xp and continue to level your class skills.
2. Buy enchanting supplies off the AH, expensive but faster
3. Be a leech and drain your guild mates dry, God knows they don’t need money or equipment to furter their adventuring and fund their mounts. Maybe one day you can pay them back with free chants – right! Every guild chanter I ever saw turned into a greedy bastige once he got high enough level to do me any good. It was either “I’m not chanting until I make level 35 because I won’t level” or “I’m broke at the moment so I can’t chant for free, I gotta charge you full price.” If you do leech, then don’t be a greedy bastige… return the graciousness you were shown even if it costs you a little. There is nothing better than calling out for help and getting 4 mates say… I’m there bud!

But, I wanna be a tailor! I live to sew!

You may say, “why should I wait?” Why shouldn’t I get started right away? Well, if you just have to start now, then be my guest but consider this. On my server:

Linen cloth sells for 25-35s/stack
Wool cloth sells for 40-70s/stack
Silk sells for around 50s/stack

That’s darn good money, especially for level 30’s and below. Your not going to make any money selling linen and wool bags in a developed economy (new servers are another story.) If you want to make bags you will be lucky to get 35s for a 10 slot small silk pack and there is no way your going make more than 40s for a stack worth of wool bags (your results may vary, don’t flame me with your whacked servers prices.) Just sell the tons and tons of cloth you will gather on your journey to level 40. Even better, make bandages! First aid is a great skill to have – it costs next to nothing to skill up in and you can’t have too many healing options in wow. Did I mention cooking? Oh, ill save that for another day. Wait till level 40, buy what you need to grind away the lower levels and then go hunt humanoids to get the mageweave and runecloth you need to make your sewing fantasies a reality. Oh and watch a lot of HGTV while you play, lots of handy sewing tips for you there too you tailor pansy!

Ok this is my opinion, its what I wish I would have done. It’s what I will do for my baby warlock (who will be an engineer) and my baby druid (who will be a leatherworker – whip it good!). If you feel differently, then get out there and show the world your crafting prowess (chicks dig crafters!)

PvE Rogue Solo Template (Wow)

This paragraph is the exact same text for all my solo and group PvE templates, so after you read this once you can just skip it for other classes. These are my templates for what I consider the best viable templates for PvE purposes ONLY. A solo template is assuming that you never plan on grouping. A group template assumes that you are in a group 100% of the time, such as end game instances. I have also been asked to provide info on what skills should be taken at which levels, this is really difficult as it would depend on exact individual play styles. However, I put a number in parenthesis before each skill, this number is the level that I would take the skill at, of course this is extremely prejudiced because it is based on my own play style. Of course if you think you have a better template please share it with us.

Assassination Talents - 16 points

Leveling Profession Leveling Guide (Wow)

Profession Levelling Guide

There are 2 sorts of professions types, primary professions and secondary professions.

The Professions

The primary professions include the 3 gathering professions: mining, skinning and herbalism.

The primary professions:
Alchemy
Blacksmithing
Enchanting
Engineering
Herbalism
Leatherworking
Mining
Skinning
Tailoring

The secondary professions:
Cooking
First Aid
Fishing

You can only practice 2 primary professions. You can, and should, skill all secondary professions. Any profession can be “unlearned” at any time. If you choose at a later time that you again want to skill the unlearned profession, you will have to start from square 1.

Skill caps
When you first take up a profession, you will have a skill cap of 75. This means that you can skill it up to a maximum of 75 before you need to go to a trainer to raise it further. There are differences between the primary and secondary professions.

The only difference between primary and secondary professions is the level you need to be able to reach Artisan (highest level – cap 300). For Primary professions you need skill 200 and you must have reached Level 35. For secondary professions you need skill 225, have reached level 40 and there is a quest to raise the skill cap to 300.

Here are the skill levels for primary professions

Skill level – Profession Level
0 - Novice (cap at 75)
50 – Journeyman (cap at 150)
125 – Expert (cap at 225)
200 and Level 35 – Artisan (Cap 300)

How to skill Professions efficiently

For those of you who just have started playing and do not have an alternate to back you up with bags, I would suggest to get Herbalism as your first profession, as second Skinning. The reason is simple, with a new character you are lacking bag space and herbs stack up to 20. Since you need a tracker active to find herbs more easily, skinning is the only other feasible gathering profession. TIP: Make a priority of buying more bags! The Auction House is a good source of cheap bags.

Until level 8 or 9 it is not too important to know which professions you want to practice, latest by level 10 you should know. As you start to leave the first noob area, you will start to encounter that you require a minimum skill to be able to skin / mine / gather.

Excluding the gathering professions (which bring you gold) wait with levelling these until you reach level 40 and have bought your mount. There are 2 simple reasons for this. To level a profession (other than the gathering ones) costs a lot of gold. The second reason is, you make more coin at level 40 than you do at level 10. ;) If you are below level 35 and already have more than 100 gold, you can start to skill that profession.

To be able to quickly skill your profession, send material from the starting areas (silverleaf / copper / leather – and other materials) to a secondary character so that you have more bag / bank space on your main character.

How do you know how much material you will need? Check www.thottbot.com and plan a rough plan. Most patterns / recipes can be used up to 15 times until they turn yellow, skill up only on orange items for a guaranteed skill point, at yellow you may have to produce 2 or 3 to get that skill point.

To conclude my levelling guide, here a short description of each profession:

The gathering professions

Below you find a short description of each. To note is that only one type of tracker can be active at any point in time. This makes a combination of Mining and Herbalism incompatible. One could take both and still find ores and herbs, but you will miss a lot of your potential.

Mining
Profession type: Gathering / Tracker
Required Items: Mining Pick

To be able to find Ore, you should have the tracker active as it will show you any ore veins in your immediate area. Mining also includes smelting, this refines your ore into bars. With mining you will, once in a while, find gems. To be able to mine, you are required to have a mining pick in your inventory which uses up 1 bag space.

Metal bars sell well on the AH.

Ores can stack up to 10, Bars up to 20.

Herbalism
Profession type: Gathering / Tracker

To find Herbs, you should have the herb tracker active, this will show you all herbs in your immediate area. You need no other tools, which makes this a great first profession if you don’t know what to do.

Herbs are a big seller on the AH.

Herbs stack up to 20

Skinning
Profession type: Gathering

You can skin almost any creature in wow except humanoids. You get either Leather or hide from a creature. To be able to skin a creature you need to have a skinning knife in your inventory.

Hides stack up to 5, Leather up to 10.

Alchemy
Profession type: Crafting
Matching Profession: Herbalism

Alchemy is a good profession, it has many “buffs” that raise stats for a limited time. Drawback is when you die, the buff is gone and another potion has to be taken. Some may think “I can make my own healing potions.” If you really need healing potions, kill any humanoid, they drop them.

Blacksmithing
Profession type: Crafting
Matching Profession: Mining

With blacksmithing you can make your own mail and plate armour as well as some very good weapons. The higher level items sell very well, however, requires a big investment in time and gold to create the better weapons. Store a lot of material and all gems you find!

Engineering
Profession type: Crafting
Matching Profession: Mining

I have not tried engineering yet. What I saw is that there are many interesting items that an engineer can make.

Leatherworking
Profession type: Crafting
Matching Profession: Skinning

I was surprised to see that a leatherworker can make mail armour. You will need tons of leather, therefore I would suggest that you store some material of the lower levels. There is no way around you having to go back to lower levels to get that required leather. It will be faster as you can quickly kill the creatures required, but you will have to go back to the easier areas.

Tailoring
Profession type: Crafting
Matching Profession: none / Enchanting

With tailoring you will need a lot of cloth. To save you a lot of bag space, ask a friendly tailor to convert your cloth into bolts. While cloth stacks up to 20, bolts stack only to 10. Only with linen does this make no difference as you need 2 linen cloth to make 1 bolt of linen. Wool saves you some space, silk a lot.

Grind a lot on humanoids, In fact, grind ONLY on humanoids and you will still not have enough cloth.

If you combine this with enchanting, don’t store too much linen and wool. A lot of this stuff drops in the deadmines which you will anyway spend some time to level enchanting.

Enchanting
Profession type: Crafting
Matching Profession: none / Tailoring

Enchanting is the most expensive profession to grind! You have to disenchant green (or better) items to get dusts, essences or splitters. This is expensive because instead of selling these green (or blue) items, you destroy them. If you choose enchanting, start only at level 40, then go to the Deadmines and run through a few times.

Don’t expect to reach 300 for a good time!

General Acme Part 3-User Interface (Warcraft)

So you decided to enter the vast kingdom of Azeroth? You may wonder
how do I level? How do I make money to afford gear and skills? How do
I use the interface that they provide? Well here is a guide to follow!
Just follow some of the simple strategies I've laid out for you and
you'll do just fine!
Index
# Part I-Introduction to World of warcraft, MMORPG, and getting started-Covered in index.cfm?page=topic&topicID=26838&categoryid=20

# Part X-Interacting with others-Covered in Part 4
# Part XI-PVP and Raids-Covered in Part 4

# Part IX- Using the Interface/Controls-

World of Warcraft has a very easy to use interface, I have found out
of all interfaces I've used World of warcraft has been the easiest to
adapt to! World of Warcraft also uses a WASD(First person shooter
movement) style movement for easy adaptation after clocking in long
hours of Counterstrike. They have it in clear view and your not going
to need to read the manual to get started with this game!
# For your UI, I suggest grabbing a UI mod such as
http://cosmosui.org which I am 100% comfortable with.
Cosmos is easy to use and legal to use unlike most UI modifiers in
other games. While using cosmos they have incorporated adding a second
bar for the mages and priests out there who just don't seem to have
enough space!

* Cosmos has incorporated games into its UI also so while
your traveling or waiting for a buddy to sign up you could play a
little Tic Tack Toe or Four in a row.
* For the fishers out there (great for making money) They have
incorporated a easy fishing which you right click to cast and fast
cast which you will cast as soon as you reel something in!
* For my Healers out there, they have a HUD (Heads up Display) that
keeps you current on your team member's health and your health so you
don't have to glance to the left side of the screen.
* For everyone they have put in a mod that tells you your experience
per hour at your current level, you're current experience per hour
this session. It also tells you the average time till next level after
collecting the data from everyone else that has completed that
level(Must be using most recent version AKA alpha not even beta which
crashes a lot just to warn you).
* You can also upload your equipment profile to thottbot (
http://www.thottbot.com ) to view it online here is
Stifler's(http://thottbot.com/index.cgi?p=Stifler.Bleeding_Hollow]
http://thottbot.com/index.cgi?p=Stifler.Bleeding_Hollow) I do
not use this mod due to how it is unstable at times when looting a new
item and can bog down your system performance.
* Last but not least one great reason to get cosmos is for /gotocorpse for those of you lazy like me I hate making a corpse run! Cosmos incorporated that neat little command which will run you to your corpse for you!

# The regular UI is also great for those of you who are scared of using a UI modifier. It is also easy to use and is easy to set up for those who have never played a MMORPG and may have stuck to FPS.
# The regular UI has basic components which include the Action bar, the Character portrait, the Experience Meter, latency bar (Ping), and the mini-map.

* The Action bar which is used for casting or using certain skills is located in the lower left hand corner of your screen. For quick casting use keys 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0,-,= or basically the top row of your keyboard! I suggest memorizing where you put what for convenience while in battles.
* The Character portrait can tell you important things like your current health and Mana/Rage/Energy which is very important while waging your epic wars so you do not have to make a corpse run!
* The experience meter is another great thing that World of warcraft has in an extremely convenient place. Whether you’re about to log out and you want to check how much experience you have to go before your next level or your mid run it is only a glance a way no needing to open up your character screen!
* Then you have the latency bar, not much to say but this can quickly decide if it is worth staying on! Green is for go in my mind, yellow is for okay but take caution and red is for forget it I’ll be on xbox if you need me!
* Last but certainly not least you have the mini-map, first let’s look at the word mini which means small and map which means basically an object used for navigation. The mini-map doesn’t take up your whole screen and make it easy to follow group members.
* Wrap Up-Make your UI work for you not the other way around, Cosmos is a great interface with a lot of ways to customize it!

First aid guide (World of warcraft)

Ahh, first Aid! One of the most least understood professions in the game….yet one of the most useful! In this guide I'll be going through the various aspects of first aid, it's uses and pretty much anything else you could possibly desire.

So enough with the smalltalk, let's get started:

First Aid Overview
First Aid is a secondary profession which allows you to create 'bandages' out of the various pieces of cloth which drop off of humanoids around the world of wow (you can see the full list from the trainers in the game, just turn of the 'unavailable' filter when viewing the training list). First aid differs from eating food primarily because you can apply first aid during combat on yourself or others, and there is no need to sit. You also gain health at a much quicker rate than eating food.

First Aid Ranks

Apprentice (1 - max 75)
The apprentice rank can be trained in any major city. Just speak to a local guard and ask them where you can find the local first aid trainer.

Journeyman (50 - max 150 skill)
Like the apprentice rank, you can train up to the journeyman skill in any city, just speak to a local guard and find out where the local physician is located.

Expert (125 - max 225 skill)
To become an 'expert' first aid toon, you'll need to purchase a book for 60 silver. The individual vendors for alliance/horde are listed below.

alliance: Deneb Walker, located in the Arathi Highlands….just inside Stormgarde keep.
Here's a map of Ms. Walker's location on thottbot.
http://www.thottbot.com/?m=10618

horde: Balai Lok'Wein, located in Brackenwall Vil
lage in Dustwallow Marsh.
Here's a map of Balai's location on thottbot.

http://www.thottbot.com/?m=93812

Artisan (225 - max 300 skill)

Requires Player Level 40
Once you've maxed out your Expert skill level in first aid, you come to one of the more entertaining quests in the game, the Triage! The triage requires you to 'save' 15 injured warriors/soldiers in a small physician's room loaded with casualties…….BEFORE 6 of them die. There are 3 types of soldiers, critically injured, badly injured and injured. The critically injured die rather quickly so bandage them first, same goes for the badly injured.

A few more tips on this quest:
- Position yourself in the MIDDLE of the room.
- Adjust your camera until you can see a part of ALL the beds containing the injured. This allows for quick targeting.
- Once you receive your 'triage bandages' throw them in a hotbar slot (#1 is easiest). This will let you speedily heal the injured and not have to fumble around in your backpack.

So now that I've told you all you need to know to SUCCEED in this quest, you're probably wondering where the hell you get it! Here's how you can obtain the triage quest.

alliance:
First, you'll need to speak to Nissa Firestone in Ironforge, she'll then direct you to speak to Doctor VanHowzen in Theramore. Here are thottbot maps for both NPCs.

Nissa Firestone: http://www.thottbot.com/?n=2353
Doctor VanHowzen: http://www.thottbot.com/index.cgi?n=7383

horde:
To begin this quest you need to strike up a conversation with Arnok who hangs out in Ogrimmar. He'll then direct you to speak with Doctor Victor in the Arathi Highlands. Here are maps for both NPCs.

Arnok: http://www.thottbot.com/index.cgi?n=1270
Doctor Victor: http://www.thottbot.com/index.cgi?n=5873
